Spoločnosti Runcon a IXI prišli na trh s novým GSM mobilným zariadením podporujúcim technológiu WiMAX. Technológia WiMAX poskytuje vysokorýchlostné prenosy do 10 MB/sekundu na obrovské vzdialenosti, v licenčnom, ako aj bezlicenčnom frekvenčnom pásme internetovým pripojením point-to-point. Runcon IXI mobilný smartphone je schopný vykonávať hlasové hovory, VoIP hovory a vysokorýchlostné dátové pripojenie do 10 MB/sekundu na frekvenčnom pásme WiMAXu 2,3 GHz alebo 2,5 GHz. Na trhu by sa mal objaviť v druhom kvartáli roku 2010 za doposiaľ neznámu cenu.
